Last night, millions of Twi-hards descended on theaters for the midnight premiere of Twilight: Breaking Dawn- Part 1. The movie raked in 30.2 million dollars- which puts it just slightly above the $30.1 million that Eclipse pulled in, but still much less than the $43.5 million that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows- Part 2 (the movie with the highest gross opening weekend of all time) made on its first night.

The first series to take advantage of this new direction will be season six of Dexter, which kicks off in the US on October 2.
